“Going for Silver” is a literary novel inspired by Sara’s own transition to ditch the dye and grow out her natural silver hair.

When the Covid pandemic strikes, friends June, Regina, Adriana and Margo have a lot to deal with: enforced remote work, relationship issues, parenting and home-schooling, sick relatives… and deciding what to do about their hair. Usually, most of them follow a strict dyeing schedule to make sure the dreaded greys never show, but now all hairdressers are shut. As they support one another through these difficult times, dormant gripes about the contentious (for women) practice of covering greys bubble to the surface, bringing to the fore issues of self-image, insecurity, femininity, menopause and friendship.
